Dear George,
I’m on an exchange programme in Beaulieu and it’s great. Beaulieu is a small peaceful village just outside Bordeaux. It’s small enough for everyone to know each other! Children can benefit a lot by helping out at home. Doing chores helps children learn skills they can use in their adult lives, like preparing meals, cleaning the house or doing the garden. Being involved in chores also gives children experience of relationship skills like communicating clearly or working as a team. It also allows them to feel valued and competent. And sharing housework can also help families work better and reduce family stress. When children help out, chores get done quicker and parents have less to do. This frees up time for the family to do fun things together. As a result, family life is more pleasant when everyone shares the chores. 
It’s best to start by choosing chores that work for children’s ages and abilities. Getting children into the habit of doing housework can begin as young as the age of three, by asking them to put away their toys when they’ve done playing with them. Older children can help with setting the table, cleaning, cooking and so on. Teenagers can help with preparing or cooking dinner, babysitting their younger siblings or shopping for groceries. However, there are some children who are motivated to do chores for pocket money. It might not be a good idea. Instead of linking chores to pocket money, parents can praise children’s positive behaviours and give them small rewards like choosing the TV programmes or having a special meal.

THE ROYAL BALLET SCHOOL, LONDON
The Royal Ballet School is one of the greatest centres for classical ballet training in the world. The school has two buildings, one near Richmond Park for 11 to 16-year-old students and the other in Covent Garden for older students. Many famous ballet dancers have come from this school. To get into the school, students have to audition – they have to perform in front of judges from the school. Over 2,000 children from all over the world attend auditions for the school each year, but only around 100 boys and girls get a place. All students live at the school in dormitories separated by gender and year group. 
During the week, students usually wake up at 7 a.m. They have breakfast, and then come to class to warm up before class begins at 9 a.m. From then until 4 p.m., each student completes four hours of academic lessons and two hours of ballet class. In the late afternoon, there may be more dance classes, rehearsals or free time before supper. They then do one hour of supervised homework at 7.15 p.m. before bedtime. Mealtimes are in the dinning hall and are an important part of the day. It’s time for students to relax and socialize. International students also have the option to take exams in their home country’s academic syllabus while having their dance training in London. In the evening, when students aren’t in class or practicing ballet, they can play tennis or play table football in the student halls.
