- Teacher asks Ss to give the structure of the present simple tense.
- T calls one of the students to go to the board and write down the structure of the present simple tense.

* Suggested structure:
I. The simple present tense:
1. Structure:
(+) S + V(S/ES) + .....
(-) S + do/ does + not + V(Bare Infinitive)
(?) Do/ Does + S + V(Bare Infinitive) ...... ?
 Note: To be: am/ is /are
2. Usage:
- T gives some examples and asks Ss to use the structure above to change into Negative and Interrogative.
Ex: - She works in that company.
 She doesn’t work in that company.
 Does she work in that company?
 - My father is a teacher.
 My father isn’t a teacher.
 Is your father a teacher?
-And T asks when you want to talk about something that is happening at the time of speaking. What tense do you use to talk about?
T leads in the present progressive tense.
II. The present progressive tense.
1. Structure:
(+) S + am/ is/ are + V-ing
(-) S + am/ is/ are + not + V-ing
(?) Am/ Is/ Are + S + V-ing ...... ?
2. Usage: 
*Note: Used with “now, right now, at the moment, at present”
Ex: - She is reading a newspaper now.
 She isn’t reading a newspaper now.
 Is she reading a newspaper?
 -Ss listen to the teacher and complete the Task.
-Ss present.
-Ss give the usage.
-Ss change the sentences into Negative and Interrogative.
- Ss work in pair and go to the board to present their answers.
- Ss work in groups to answer the T’s questions.
- Ss give the structure of the present progressive tense.
Ss present the usage.
Ss use the structure to change the S into the Negative and Interrogative.

 Exercise 1: Put the verbs in brackets in the Simple present tense.
	1. They (tell) me about that news when they (get) home every afternoon, they (have) some food and then (change) their clothes; they never (eat) or (drink) anything at school.
	2. She (get) up at seven o’clock. She (open) the window and (make) her bed. She (do) her morning exercises in front of the open window. Then she was (wash) her hand and face and (wash) behind her ears, too.
	3. Ba and Lan (go) to school every morning. Lan (look) for her friends on the way; when she (see) them, She (run) to them. Ba and Lan (play) with them until they (hear) the school bell.
Exercise 2: Complete the sentences with one of the following verbs in the Present progressive tense.

*Note: Used with “at that time, at this time yesterday, at 6.a.m last night....”
Ex: - She was reading a newspaper at this time yesterday.
 She wasn’t reading a newspaper at this time yesterday.
 Was she reading a newspaper at this time yesterday?
 -Ss listen to the teacher and complete the Task.
-Ss present give the structure

-Ss change the sentences into Negative and Interrogative.

V. The present tense:
1. Structure:
(+) S + has/have + P.P (V-III-ed)
(-) S + has/ have + not + P.P
(?) Has/ Have + S + P.P... ?
2. Usage: 
- T asks Ss to give the usage of this tense. If not, T can explain it to Ss.
- T gives some examples as illustrations.
Ex: - She has been a nurse for twenty five years.
 - I haven’t seen Tom recently.
 - She hasn’t finished her report yet.
-T asks Ss to change the sentences into Negative and Interrogative.
-And T says, “In order to emphasize the continuity of the action, we can use the present perfect progressive tense.”
Ex: She has been waiting for him for two hours.
 He has been worked all this week.
 My father has been reading the newspaper since 9 o’clock.
II. The present perfect progressive tense.
1. Structure:
(+) S + has/ have + been + V-ing
(-) S + has/ have + no t + been + V-ing
(?) Has/ Have + S + been + V-ing ......?
2. Usage: emphasizing the continuity of the action.
Ex: She has been waiting for him for two hours.
 He has been worked all this week.
 My father has been reading the newspaper since 9 o’clock.
- T asks Ss to change the S into the Negative and Interrogative.
 -Ss listen to the teacher and complete the Task.
-Ss present give the structure
Ss present the usage.

*Note: - used to express an action that happened before another one or a period of time in the past.
- T gives some examples as illustrations.
Ex: - She had had breakfast before she went to school.
 - I had finished my homework by 9 o’clock last night.
-And T says, “In order to emphasize the continuity of the action, we can use the past perfect progressive tense.”
Ex: She had been waiting for him for two hours.
 He had been worked all this week before I came here.
VIII. The past perfect tense vs. the past simple tense.
- T asks Ss to look at the examples and say which action happens firstly in each following examples.
Ex1: She had had breakfast before she went to school.
 = She went to school after she had had breakfast.
Ex2: I had finished my letter before I went to sent it.
 = (Ss’answer)
*Note: Used with “Before and After”

IX. The past perfect tense:
1. Structure:
(+) S + shall/ will + V (bare Infinitive)
(-) S + shall/ will + not + V (bare Inf)
(?) Shall/ Will + S + V(bare Inf)
2. Usage: 
- T asks Ss to give the usage of this tense. If not, T can explain it to Ss.
*Note: - Often used with “tomorrow, next week/ month...”
- T gives some examples as illustrations.
Ex: - She will go to Hanoi next week
 - I will lend you some money.
- T asks Ss to compare two following sentences.
Ex1: I will buy a new house.
Ex2: I am going to buy a new house.
* When you have intention/ plan/ have plan to do something, you use the near future “Be going to”
- T leads in the new grammatical point.
VIII. The near future tense:
1. Structure.
S + am/ is/ are + going + to-infinitive
S + am/ is/ are + not + going + to-inf
Am/ Is/ Are + S + going + to-inf ... ?
Ex: she is going to move to New York.
 They are going to take the final examination.
*Note: When you have intention/ plan/ have plan to do something, you use the near future “Be going to”
 -Ss listen to the teacher and do the Task.
-Ss give the structure.

- Ss give the differences between two these tenses.
